I’d like to request a feature that allows users to keep the camera physically mounted in landscape orientation while capturing portrait-oriented photos for photo booth templates.
The software could provide a Portrait Crop Mode that uses the center portrait portion of the camera's landscape image. Ideally, the live-view screen would display a portrait crop guide or portrait preview, allowing guests to see exactly what will appear in the final photo.
When the photo is taken, the software would automatically:
Crop the landscape image to the selected portrait aspect ratio.
Use only the cropped portrait image in the photo template.
Allow the crop position and size to be adjusted during setup.
Display the cropped portrait view during live view so guests can frame themselves correctly.
Preserve the original full-resolution landscape image when possible.
This would be especially useful for photo booth operators who use equipment where the camera or screen is permanently mounted in landscape orientation, but want to offer portrait-style templates without physically rotating the camera.
It would provide much more flexibility when designing 2×6, 4×6, and other portrait-oriented photo layouts while allowing operators to continue using the same hardware configuration.
