No memory card required for Sony cameras

For about 5 years now, Sony's SDK has allowed users to transfer photos directly to a PC without needing a memory card. This feature works with Canon cameras, for example, in their software, but it doesn't work yet with Sony cameras. According to Sony’s developers: “There is no need for an SD card if you select the correct transfer mode in the SDK or menu (‘Transfer to Host Only’ instead of ‘Transfer to SD Card + Host’). Can this be integrated? Thanks
