Making it easier to select multiple images in the dashboard

Currently there is only two ways for selecting multiple images in the event folder / on the dashboard - selecting every single image individually or choosing “select all”. Would it be possible to make it easier to select a bunch of images that are not necessarily all images in the event. Similar for example to how you can select multiple files in a lot of file explorers via SHIFT-click (so clicking the first and the last file and every file in between gets selected automatically?)
